In this challenge, I chose to begin with a diagram to provide a clearer view of the company's objectives and the path to be taken. The diagram was crucial to visually illustrate the proposed strategies, offering a more tangible understanding of how to enhance daily pet care and, at the same time, boost the company's revenue.
In the next step, a Desk Research was conducted to map trends. This involved analyzing existing data to gain insights into the pet industry. Some observations included:
The proto-persona was formulated to gain a deeper comprehension of the motivations driving pet parents. The goal was to align the product's potential outcomes with their everyday needs regarding the pet's activities.
5Ws + H
Using the 5Ws + H method helps us understand the user's situation better. It breaks down the problem into simple questions like What, Who, Where, When, Why, and How. This way, we can make sure we're looking at the challenges from the user's perspective and create a solution that fits their needs.
Creating a user journey map for pet parents is a transformative process, offering a roadmap-like view of their interaction with pet-related products and services. By identifying touchpoints and gathering insights from various sources, this map becomes a crucial instrument for understanding potential points of friction and areas for improvement in the user experience.
A user flow is a valuable tool for visualizing the structure and flow of our pet app, offering a clear understanding of how users will navigate through different functionalities.
When creating the visual identity, I sought a palette with strong colors and pastel tones as secondary colors, aiming to create harmony throughout the app. The font chosen was Sora, which brings a more relaxed tone to the product.
This was the first version of the solution; the next step would be to validate with users and carry out the necessary iterations.
